Doug for Model Number Kenmore 795.78712.801 Replaced failing valve assembly with LG 5221JB2006K as per Sears recommendation. There was a lack of much electric or waterline information for the fridge so I labeled tubes and valve connectors before disassembly to reduce the chance of mixing them up. Reassembly went fine, water dispensed as expected. When the ice maker cycled to make ice water also came out the dispenser but the ice maker itself remained dry. Can you give me some idea of what I may have mixed up (electrical or water line) and help me undo whatever I did? I'd like to avoid shooting water out over the kitchen floor again, if I can. Thanks so much for your help!
Answer Doug, based on the information provided, it sounds like there may have been a miswire that occurred. The purple wire and blue wire connector should go to the 5/16" tubing for the water dispenser and it will have a jumper wire going to a second connector that would need to be plugged into the front solenoid. This will leave the other two connectors that would be plugged into the last two solenoids for the ice maker. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, April 19, 2022
