Charles A. for Model Number LRFD25850SW SER#509KRFN01035 Our ice maker stopped making ice. We get water from the dispenser but we don't get water into the ice maker. Could it be the water valve?
Answer Hello Charles, If the ice maker stops making ice, the issue can be the ice maker, the water inlet valve, or the temperature in the freezer compartment is over 20°F. If the ice maker has ice in it, the ice maker is the issue. If the ice maker is empty, the water valve or the ice maker is the issue. You see, if the ice maker isn't filling, the internal switch in the ice maker that powers the water valve could be defective. You can cycle the ice maker and test at the water valve to see if it is sending voltage to it, or in some cases, when the ice maker cycles, the water valve will actually make a humming noise even if it cannot open to allow the water fill to take place. The most probabler cause is the water valve 5221JB2006K. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 31, 2012
