Bill S for Model Number Amana arb9058cs Repair guy installed 3 in 1. Not sure of part number but unit has a run capacitor. Fridge and freezer warm. This fixed it. Unit is 9 yrs old works fine. Do i need to replace the 3 in 1 with original parts and if so what do I need to buy, I'm guessing start relay device with overload and start capacitor and a run capacitor? Otherwise will the 3 in 1 be ok long term? I see in the question above you said it was not safe for that amana how come?
Answer Hello Bill. Yes, you need to order the correct compressor starting device W10613606. The 3 in 1 is good to use until you get the correct part in for the compressor, but over time can damage the compressor on the unit. If the compressor does not run with the original starter, but does with the 3 in 1, then the compressor is more than likely going bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
