John for Model Number Samsung NX58H9500WS/AA The igniter for main oven glows and the gas is ignited after a couple of mins and the oven heats up but takes a long time. The resistance of the igniter reads 33 ohms is that too low? Also, I'm seeing different part numbers for a replacement igniter; DG94-01012A and DG94-00520A. Please advise if I'm on the right track with the igniter replacement and confirm the correct part number if so. Thanks.
Answer John, The igniter sounds like it is working properly on your unit. You will want to check the oven sensor to make sure that the sensor has a resistance at room temp of 1090 ohms. If this checks ok then it is likely that the oven safety valve is faulty. There are coils inside the valve that open the valve and they may be causing the valve to close prematurely therefore causing the longer heating times. Read More...
