Bill, if the pulsating is coming from the burner, it would be recommended that the burner is thoroughly cleaned as a clogged jet can cause improper operation. The oven bottom vents would also need to be completely clear and the burner air shutter not closed. If the gas supply is LP, the air shutter needs to be fully open. If the supply is natural gas, the shutter would need to be 3/4 of the way open.

Tim, You will want to test to see if there is 3.2 to 3.6 amps being pulled by the igniter and if there are not then this will be a weak igniter.

Ryan for Model Number NX60T8511SS/AA

My oven igniter is shot. I pulled out the original DG94-01441A, but couldn’t find a replacement available anytime soon. DG94-00520A was available and advertised as a replacement. I put it in and it will glow orange, but the gas is not getting released to start the oven burners. 1) would this be because the replacement part doesn’t pull enough amps to trigger the gas release? Or 2) due to the orange glow, not bright yellow, could the replacement possibly be damaged by skin contact (just a guess)?

1 Answer

Tom, Thanks for the question!!! No, the wires should not glow, only the ignitor itself should glow.
