Jon for Model Number RB215LASH Hello My ice maker had an issue, the water kept pouring into the ice tray, and will not stop. It seems like the sensor that makes water auto stop, stop working? Is it best to buy a new ice alter assembly and replace the complete unit? Thank you Jon
Answer Jon, you may want to inspect the valve DA62-00930A to see if there is a humming noise coming from it. This humming noise is the valve being energized and if it is not humming then the valve has failed and is letting water pass. If the valve is being energized, the most likely issue would be the main control and it can be tested. The first step will be to test the main pcb MICOM #31 for +5V output, IC70 #18 for 0V output, and then with the unit unplugged the relay K76 will need to be inspected for any visible defects. If any of these fail, the main control DA41-00293A would need to be replaced. If the main control tests good, then there would be an issue with the ice maker DA97-02203H that would be causing the main control to sense a continuous harvest. Read More...
