William S. for Model Number Jvm1870SF001 Microwave was fine then suddenly loud humming like a jammed fan motor. I heardcrackling then it continued to run normal Unfortunately no heat. I pulled the magnatron and it appears fine no signs of burning. I tested both leads and it appears normal. I plugged it back saw sparks from magnatron and no heat. Help I dont want to retile backsplash.
Answer Hello William. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the magnetron WB27X10735 is bad and the diode WB27X1160 will need to be replaced to. If the magnetron is sparking, it is bad. The diode is part of the high voltage circuit and needs to be replaced when the magnetron is replaced. Read More...
