Sean for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA I replaced the heater assembly few weeks ago. I still hear noise like a fan hitting ice. Would this cause the refrigerator side to be warmer? Should I replace the main control board or is there a defrost timer? Where is the main control board and timer location?
Answer Hello Sean, If the sound is the fan hitting ice you will need to remove the rear freezer wall and see what the frost build-up looks like to determine if the problem is with the defrost circuit, an air leak, or a water leak from the icemaker. A defrost issue causes a blockage of air flow to the fresh food side so it can cause the fresh food side to warm up. The main board is on the rear of the unit and acts as the defrost timer.
