Paul for Model Number NX58H5600SS/AA I have a propane samsung stove. The temprature when set to any degree doesn't seem to be reached. It stays at 150 degrees and does not get any hotter. I've replaced the hot surface igniter assembly back in April and it seemed to have solved the problem. Once again it started again. Could this part be defective? or is it something else that has gone bad? thanks
Answer Hello Paul, the new bake igniter should have lasted years. If it has the same problem as before , meaning it is glowing but the gas valve is not opening, test that the stove is getting 120vac in bake mode, if it is lower, say 110v that may be a problem as the igniter is rated for 120v to be able to draw 3.5 amps to open the gas valve. If that is not the problem check the bake burner tube DG62-00066A the glow igniter DG94-00520A, should be positioned parallel to the burner tube and the ports on the tube should not be corroded, the air shutter should be wide open (LP setting), because if the burner does not burn cleanly there can be a residue build-up on the igniter that will shorten its life.
