Barry W for Model Number Samsung RB215ABBP I bought and installed this ice maker. I fills with water and makes Ice, but it does not dump the ice. If I press the "test" button on the bottom of the ice maker it will dump the ice. The arm that indicates that the ice container is filled moves, but appears to be in the incorrect position. The arm is always up near the ice maker, indicating that the ice container is filled. It moves about 1/2" when the ice tray dumps using the test button. Is there some way to move the arm to turn the ice maker on and off? Is there an on/off switch on the ice maker? thanks for you assistance.
Answer Barry, The arm on the icemaker is designed to be in the up position and when it cycles the arm comes down, if it meets resistance it will stop the icemaker from cycling. You will want to check the temperature of the freezer. If the freezer is not cold enough then it will cause the icemaker to not cycle. The only other thing would be a control board that is not reading the resistance of the thermistor on the unit properly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 30, 2015
