Chrys for Model Number RF26VABBP The ice maker constantly overmakes ice, causing the whole bin to clump and freeze. It doesn't seem to know when it is full and turn it off. Ice is also constantly building up too much in the front of the bin. On the Ice Bucket the white part that turns the metal part in the middle of the ice bucket will not stay in place. We will order a new ice bucket but wonder why the sensor isn't working right, or even where the sensor is. Will the new ice bucket fix that problem? Thank you.
Answer Chrys, On the side of the icemaker there is a drop down arm that is supposed to sense whether the icemaker is full before dumping the ice. The arm drops down and if it does not go all the way down it is not supposed to allow ice to drop. Based on this it sounds like the icemaker would need to be replaced. Just getting an icebucket will not correct the icemaker issue. The part number of the icemaker is DA97-05422A Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, May 21, 2014
