Liz for Model Number WF218ANW/XAA-0000 Hello! Last night as our washer was finishing its cycle, it stopped with 9 minutes remaining and had water in the drum. When we turn it back on to try a spin only and drain the water, we only hear a loud humming noise and the drum does not spin and the water does not drain. The door unlocks after about 10 seconds of this humming noise. After putting the machine into diagnostic mode, the drum will spin successfully.
Answer Liz, if the washer was not able to drain, it would cause the main control to not go into a spin mode. It would be recommended that the hoses from the tub to the drain pump, and the drain hose, are inspected for any clogs and cleared as necessary. If there are no clogs, the next step would be to inspect the drain pump DC31-00054A housing for any debris that may be preventing the drain pump from operating properly or clogging the filter and housing.
