Scott for Model Number RFG237AARS/XAA-0000

The fridge & freezer lose temp, but the temp on the panel says its normal. This does not seem to be a defrost problem. I unplug the unit, plug it back in and the panel shows the actual much warmer temp. Then the fridge cools back down for a day, then repeat. Im guessing this is the main control board issue. There are 2 boards, should I replace both the main and inverter boards? I did let it completely lose all temp when I went out for a week, and it the panel was blinking -2. Thoughts?

Answer

Hello Scott, since cycling the power to the ref allows the ref to run and cool correctly it is likely the mainboard is the problem as a power reset just resets the control board, the inverter board just powers the compressor, if it fails there is no cooling at all.
