Michael for Model Number RH25H5611BC/AA Freezer works great but fridge will not stay at 34 degrees. It keeps going up to 60. If I put ice in the fridge to lower the temperature, it will stay cold for a couple of day but then move up to 60 degrees. The fridge was bought new 2 years ago. I don't think it's the sensor because the reading on the fridge is actuate to the temperature inside. I called a local appliance store and he said it sounded like the compressor or the fan. How would I know which one it is?
Answer Michael, It shouldn't be the compressor or inverter board( or the freezer wouldn't cool, either), That would indicate an issue with the refrigerator evaporator fan or a defrost problem on the refrigerator evaporator. Your refrigerator has a magnetic "reed" switch for a door light switch. If you have a small magnet, open the refrigerator door, place the magnet over the area of the switch near the hinge and the evaporator fan should run. If not you can remove the back wall/evaporator cover and check the fan motor and the defrost heater and thermostat all at the same time. Read More...
