Rick for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA-0000 My evaporator fan iced up and was making a loud humming sound which I discovered on the internet is fairly common. I removed the cover and melted the ice with a hair dryer and noticed the drain was frozen closed. I cleared the drain and verified it was draining freely and verified the defrost heater was working. I read that I should replace the drain clip with a longer one to fit further into the drain hole. I thought your part DA61-06796A would be the one but per your compatibility ref. will not fit. What part number do you recommend an will it solve the fan icing problem? Thanks, Rick
Answer Hello Rick. You will need to check for the defrost system in the fresh food DA96-00660E. This will cause the icing issues in the unit. You can use the long drain clip DA61-14306A on your model if you would like to but that will not resolve your defrost issue. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
