John for Model Number rf28hfedbbc Today we noticed that things were starting to freeze in the refrigerator though the display said 34 deg. Tonight the display started flashing 34 degrees. I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in and the display was showing 74 deg. The freezer is showing -1 deg. Can you tell me what component needs to be replaced or how to determine what needs to be replaced?
Answer John, you will want to test the temperature sensors to ensure that they are reading the proper resistance compared to what the actual temperature is. If they are reading the proper resistance compared to the actual temperature, then the most likely issue would be with the main control. A temperature chart will be sent to assist with testing.
