Dennis, With the coils icing up then you will want to test the defrost sensor and the bimetal for the defrost. Also check the heater. The heater and bimetal will have continuity when on the coil, the heater should have continuity and the sensor should read a resistance of 5K ohms at room temp. If all these check ok then this will be a main control board issue in which it is not sending the refrigerator section in to defrost.
