Tom Zaniewski for Model Number SMH2117S/XAA-0001 Hello, I have a Samsung microwave with a 5e error on the display. I read that it was a shorted touch pad. I did ask a appliance tech and was told that you can replace just the touch pad but unless you have a leak detector to test the door after disassembly, I never would recommend you disassemble the door. Is this true and how hard is it to replace the touch pad. Thank You!
Answer Tom, I would agree with the other tech about replacing the keypad, there are several pieces that have to come apart to get to that touch pad, you may break several of those liner pieces, I would replace the entire door or replace the microwave.
