Bond, The thermal fuse(s) in your dryer are in the heater circuit, and wouldn't cause the dryer to become inoperative. The more likely issue is the voltage surge damaged the main control board DC92-01624C, But first check the power cord and the connections at the terminal block on the back of the dryer, to make sure they didn't get damaged, then check/ repalce the control board, if ll looks good.
