For Samsung Dryer Thermostat (Part Number: OEM12605685)

Greg, The thermal fuse should just have a screw holding it in place and would want to just unscrew it and install the new one.

Jimmy, the main control DC92-01626A would need to be tested for 120VAC at the brown wire found on the two-wire relay 5 while a cycle is started. If there is voltage, the main control is good. As the motor was not rotating, it would be unlikely that the thermal fuse DC47-00015A has failed. However, it can be tested for continuity to identify if it has, as it should have continuity. The belt switch 3405-001077 would also need to be tested for continuity when the belt pulley is in the position it would be while the belt is attached. If the main control, thermal fuse, and belt switch tested good, the failure would be in the motor DC31-00055G.

Eric, Thanks for the question!!! Typically when there is power and you hear the click I almost always find the belt is broken. Pop the top and look at that belt. Here is the part number if needed 6602-001655. Other options would be an issue with incoming power, the control board, or the motor.

Karianne for Model Number Dv42h5400ew/a3

Hi there! My dryer wouldn't heat so I tested my heating element and all was good. I ordered a thermistor, thermostat and thermal fuse from you guys and replaced them all by following your videos, thank you! I also cleaned the vents and I was thrilled when it was heating after my repairs! But not 4 minutes later... it won't hear again! I read another question that was came from someone with the exact same issue and the answer was: "The thermal fuse should only blow in the case of an overheating issue. It is possible that the relay on the control board may be sticking closed". Can you please elaborate? Is this something that can be repaired with any replacement parts? Model Number Dv42h5400ew/a3 Thank you!

Karianne, Based on the information I would recommend checking the thermal fuse with a multimeter. If it is bad then check the dryer vent system for an airflow issue.

Travis, We do not have information on the exact difference but it would be a temperature rating that would be different. The one on the side of the heating element will need to be higher than the one that would be on the blower housing.

Jeffrey, If you can get the drum to spin and stay spinning by rotating the drum then this will be a faulty motor in the dryer. The start winding would be bad and will need to replace the entire motor DC31-00055G.

Carlos, This thermal fuse should only blow in the case of an overheating issue. It is possible that the relay on the control board may be sticking closed and causing the dryer's heater to not shut off.

Kasper for Model Number DV422EWHDWR/AA-0001

Hello, I am not sure if I have the -0000 or -0001 dryer. I have been having issue with the thermal fuse blowing within 5-10 mins of starting the dryer. Today I have replaced the hose to the outdoor exhaust, cleaned the pipe in the wall and the dryer managed to stay on and heating for most of the cycle. I am not sure what else I can do here? Ive replaced this fuse about 5 or 6 times now. I checked continuity through the thermostat and the heating element and everything is good. Thank you for any help in advance!

1 Answer

Kasper, you may want to test the resistance of the heating element. The heating element [DC47-00019A] should read 10 ohms. If it does not read 10 ohms, the heater could potentially overheat and trip the hi-limit thermostat. Another thing that would need to be checked is if the control is properly cycling the heater on and off. If the element is grounded out or the control [DC92-01025A] does not cycle properly, it will cause the element to overheat as well.

CWL, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not list the rivet size that is needed for the thermal fuse. Also it would be best to use steel rivets due to high heat.

Nick, You will want to check the thermal fuse on the unit to make sure that it has continuity. If there is continuity then you would need to check to see if the units belt may be broken or this would be a control board issue.
