Kasper for Model Number DV422EWHDWR/AA-0001 Hello, I am not sure if I have the -0000 or -0001 dryer. I have been having issue with the thermal fuse blowing within 5-10 mins of starting the dryer. Today I have replaced the hose to the outdoor exhaust, cleaned the pipe in the wall and the dryer managed to stay on and heating for most of the cycle. I am not sure what else I can do here? Ive replaced this fuse about 5 or 6 times now. I checked continuity through the thermostat and the heating element and everything is good. Thank you for any help in advance!
Answer Kasper, you may want to test the resistance of the heating element. The heating element [DC47-00019A] should read 10 ohms. If it does not read 10 ohms, the heater could potentially overheat and trip the hi-limit thermostat. Another thing that would need to be checked is if the control is properly cycling the heater on and off. If the element is grounded out or the control [DC92-01025A] does not cycle properly, it will cause the element to overheat as well. Read More...
