Fgarvin for Model Number ME18H704SFS Microwave shut off completely. Unplugged, reset breakers and it turned on. Soon shut off again. Checked fuses and thermostats (thermal fuse) and one thermostat shows as being open (#1605-KSD-40LC 70). Which part should I look to purchase? Is part# DE47-20034A compatible? Will this possibly solve my problem? Thank you!
Answer Fgarvin, the hood thermal cutout located just behind the control on the left is going to be a normally open thermostat that closes when temperatures increase to turn the fan on. During the state of failure, the main control DE92-03624B will need to be tested at connection CN101 pin 1 to ground for 120VAC. If there is voltage, then the main control has failed. If there is not voltage, and nothing has been used that would create heat, then the filter board DE96-00400E would be the most likely failure. Read More...
