JB, with the power cord unplugged, the outer shell at the top and sides would need to be removed. This will give access to the fuses as well as the retaining screw found at the center top of the console.

Rae, There are several thermostats in this unit. There are 2 on the base behind the control panel, the right side one would be part number DE47-00050C, and the left side would be DE47-20034A. Then there will be one on the magnetron and is part number DE47-20007B. There is also one on the top of the unit and would be part number DE47-20060A.

Rick, On the base of the microwave there are 2 thermostats and one is a normally open circuit, which sounds like the one you received and the other will be the closed circuit. You will want to get the closed circuit thermostat which will be part number DE47-00050C.

Paul for Model Number ME21H706MQG

Good morning, microwave suddenly stopped during cooking. One of the 250v fuses was bad, replaced. Unit controls then lite up but unit would not start. Tested capacitor, bad. Replaced capacitor, unit powers up and starts fine but no heat. 3 thermostat’s test open, one closed. The bottom left one behind the control panel test closed, but I’m not sure that it shouldn’t. That said, I jumped that thermostat, when I plugged in the unit the exhaust fan immediately started. I ran unit with bowl of water and it heated. I reinstalled thermostat, again it ran but no heat again. Then I turned on the exhaust fan prior to starting the unit. This test heated the bowl of water correctly. So, what part do you think is causing the issue? Thank you

1 Answer

Paul, the only thermostat that should read open would be the hood thermostat DE47-20034A located just behind the control panel on the bottom left as it is used to turn the hood fan on during temperatures higher than 158°F. However, based on the information provided, it sounds like the main control DE92-03624D has a relay failure for the heating system.
