Mike for Model Number DV448AEP/XAA-0003 I just replaced my heating element with a new one due to it burning out and breaking in half. I took photos of the wiring for the thermal cut off and the thermostat and the main power leads to the element, rewired it as the photos showed but now the dryer is overheating. The clothes get so hot you can't even touch them before the dryer shuts down and says "overheated;call service". What has gone wrong now?
Answer Mike, You will want to check the dryer ducting to make sure that it is clear. If the vent is clogged it will cause this issue to occur. Also check the high limit thermostat on the heater housing as it may be faulty causing a overtemp issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, November 13, 2014
