Joseph January 22, 2024 for Model Number Samsung DV42H5600EP/A3 Electric Front-Load Dryer I am getting conflicting information regarding the correct Thermal Cut-Off Fuse or thermostat or whatever the correct name is for the one that is located on the housing that houses the heating element, NOT the one for the blower. Two part numbers come up: DC47-00015A and DC47-00016A. Some say 15A is for the blower and 16A is for the element housing while others say the opposite. I did replace 6 months ago with a 16A and it has blown again. The original was a PTS17S which indicates it came from the factory with the 16A. Is it possible that the incorrect one was installed at the factory and that it should have been a 15A or is it correct and the 16A is indeed for the heating element housing and 15A is for the blower? I also see online no temperature rating for the 16A but see that the 15A says " 320-degree Fahrenheit cut-off temperature". So which should have the 320 cut off temp, the blower or the heating element?
1 Answer Joseph, The 16A would be more likely for the heater element since it will have a higher amp draw. Read More...
Daniel M January 04, 2024 for Model Number samsung DV231AW/XAA My dryer not dry and the resistance element is good ,what could it be and what parts can be compatible with another model ?
1 Answer Daniel M, The most common issue with a dryer not drying or taking too long to dry is an airflow issue. For an airflow issue check that the vent is the correct size, not crimped or blocked in any way. Make sure the vent is the correct size and made of rigid pipe. If the machine is not heating at all and the heater checks goof then the issue could be a thermostat, a wiring issue, or a control issue. Read More...
Chad Adams September 25, 2023 for Model Number DVE45/R6100P/A3 I replaced the thermal fuse several months ago. Dryer was not turning on prior to the replacement. The same condition just came back. After checking the thermal fuse again, I found that it is bad again. Looking for a reason why this fuse would continue to fail?
1 Answer Chad A, The first thing would be to check your vent for blockages and damages. Then check for lint build-up from inside the blower assembly, all the way out. Airflow is the most common issue with thermal fuses. Read More...
Tim July 05, 2023 for Model Number DV50K7500EV/A3 DRYER WILL RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN TIMER GOES TO 1 MIN. AND THEN CUTS OFF. CHECKED VENT AND AIR FLOW IT IS GOOD. WHAT PART MAY NEED REPLACING OR IS THERE SOMETHING I CAN CHECK.
1 Answer Tim, Check the venting from the blower housing to the outside of the home. If there is no restrictions then check the thermistors to make sure that they are good. Read More...
Petej47 March 18, 2023 for Model Number DV45K6200EW/A3 The dryer runs for about 3 minutes and quits. If I cycle the power I get a warning light that the lint filter needs cleaning. After cleaning the lint trap and re-installing, power on, start normal cycle and the dryer repeats the performance. I am thinking the over temperature fuse is at fault . The drum turns, there is heat but the problem keeps reoccurring. How do I accurately determine what component is at fault rather than shot gunning parts replacements. Thank you in advance. Pete
1 Answer Pete, Check the venting from the blower wheel to the outside of your home to ensure that it is not blocked. A restricted ductwork will cause this issue. If this is good then there is a thermistor located on the blower housing that you will want to check to ensure that it is good. Read More...
Ginny May 25, 2022 for Model Number DV45H7000/EWA201 Samsung electric dryer is not heating. Every thing works except no heat. What can cause this problem ?
1 Answer Ginny, You will want to check the thermostats to make sure that they are good. Check to see if there is 240 Vac getting to the heater. If there is then the issue will be with the heater being faulty. If there is not then it will be with either the main control board or the motor. The main board would be more likely. Read More...

1 Answer Larry, The part number for the thermal fuse will be DC47-00016A. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide the cutout temperature on this fuse. Read More...
Jon July 27, 2021 What is the resistance I should be getting when testing continuity with a voltmeter?
1 Answer Jon, When testing continuity on a thermal fuse, as long as it does not show OL which means open line then the fuse should be good. Read More...
Dennis May 06, 2021 for Model Number Samsung DV42H5000EW/AC I need to replace the thermal fuse and my understanding is that I need the DC47-00015A. However, it doesn't look like it comes with the bracket and I don't have the tools to attach it to the old bracket. Is there another part that I can buy instead?
1 Answer Dennis, The thermal fuse for your model is our part number DC47-00015A and this part is available and the manufacturer does not list an alternate part. Read More...
Doug April 19, 2021 for Model Number samsung dv361ewbewr/a3 What is the best way to determine if the failure is the heating or on of the other components. I tested the voltage going to the heating element and is was normal but no heat out of the element. I am not seeing anything on the multimeter when I test the thermostat or the fuse. When I do a continuity test on the thermostat and fuse I am hearing a tone so I am suspecting the problem is the heating element itself. Before I start buying random parts I was hoping to get feedback.
1 Answer Doug, If you are getting 240 Vac to the element and it is not coming on then the element would be the issue in which it would need to be replaced. Read More...
