Chris G. for Model Number DV330AGB/XAA Hello, I own a samung DV330AGB/XAA front load dryer. I turned the dryer on one evening and all I got was a click. The timer flashed from 40 minutes to 39. The main issue is the drum not spinning. I replaced the belt and idler assembly. They both needed it. Put everything back together and same symptoms. The dryer will not spin. I tyhought maybe the issue could have been the idler assembly not closing the switch. **Honestly not sure if that switch is supposed to stayed open or closed.** Next thing I pulled out was thermal fuse. Well it said I needed a multimeter to test this to verify continuity. I did that and when I touched the leads together to test them it gave me an audible tone indicating a closed circuit. When I put the leads one on each leg of the thermal fuse I did not get any audible tone and the screen read "OL". I am hoping this may be my issue why the dryer drum does not spin. Any help is appreciated.
Answer Hello Chris, You will need to check the thermal fuse and the door switch with a meter and see if either is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
