Ashley for Model Number DV410AER/XAA My dryer is producing heat but will shut off and Tripp the breaker about 8-10minutes after it starts. Also, leading up to the dryer tripping the breaker you can hear a faint buzzing noise coming from the breaker box and it’s putting off this god awful smell in the breaker box. Is this a breaker box/wiring issue with my new house or could this all be related to the heating element?
Answer Ashley, it is recommended that the wiring is inspected in the dryer and that wires to the heating circuit are tested to ground chassis to ensure that a grounded wire may not be the problem. It is also recommended that the power cord is inspected for loose connections to the dryer as well as crossed wires. If this checks good, then it could possibly be an electrical issue elsewhere.
