The dryer runs for about 3 minutes and quits. If I cycle the power I get a warning light that the lint filter needs cleaning. After cleaning the lint trap and re-installing, power on, start normal cycle and the dryer repeats the performance. I am thinking the over temperature fuse is at fault . The drum turns, there is heat but the problem keeps reoccurring. How do I accurately determine what component is at fault rather than shot gunning parts replacements. Thank you in advance. Pete

Answer

Pete, Check the venting from the blower wheel to the outside of your home to ensure that it is not blocked. A restricted ductwork will cause this issue. If this is good then there is a thermistor located on the blower housing that you will want to check to ensure that it is good.
