Mick for Model Number NE58F9500SS I often find myself needing to replace the thermistor (DG32-0004C) because the oven rapidly overheats and toasts it's contents to a crisp. I replace it and all is good again for about a year, but then the same thing happens again. Interestingly, when I measure the failed thermistor's resistance it actually seems to be just fine (including changing correctly when I heat it with a heat gun). Is it possible circuit board the thermistor plugs into is flakey, or maybe even the connector that the thermistor plugs into? It's currently broken again (4th time) and I'm tempted to get rid of the connectors and solder everything. Do you have any recommendations?
Answer Hello Mick, I'm sorry you are having problems. These are manmade components that are exposed to excessive temperatures so they do tend to fail often. You can solder the connections if you want but I would recommend using ceramic wire nuts and refrain from the soldering since this can damage the control board. Read More...
