Erich S. for Model Number LAT8714 AAE Washing machine stopped in mid-wash cycle. I removed all the water and attempted to start over. The drum filled with water just fine, but the wash cycle would not start. I tried the rinse and spin-dry cycles, but there is no motor actition even though the "ON" light is lit. What seems to be my problem? If it is the motor, how do I get it? Erich
Answer Hello Erich. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the lid switch WP22001682 may be bad on the unit. You will need to test the lid switch and make sure the two switches are working correctly. If not, you will need to replace the lid switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
