Buster for Model Number Maytag A7300 How can you tell if washer motor has gone bad? I have replaced lid switch and now the washer will fill with water but will do nothing else... Checked belts belts are ok. Checked pump and seems to be ok.
Answer Hi Buster. Do you hear your motor hum? Are you getting 120vac to the motor? Unhook the motor belt and try to see if the motor pulley is freely turning. Is your Lid switch adjusted back to the original spot exactly engaging the lid unbalance lever as before? Is this lever still connected to the spring? this spring part # is WP213720. Did you use lid switch part # WP22001682 and all is reconnected original? Is your Pressure switch satisfied ? Take a small hose and hook it to the back of the pressure switch, turn the washer on in wash cycle and blow into it, this should push the diaphragm closing the internal switch to the closed position allowing your motor to start. This part # is 207363. Or if you feel comfortable using a jumper wire and bypass the pressure switch, you want to jump gry/wht.- to - yellow. Make sure you are safe with 120vac. Please try this before going further. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, July 27, 2011
