Buster for Model Number Maytag A7300 I have replaced lid switch, checked springs on motor bracket, motor moves freely, belts appear to be in good shape. The washer will fill with water but will not start to wash, the motor will start humming and I can reach down and pull on the belt and the motor will catch wash as normal. I can wash my clothes as long as I stay by the washer and gently pull on belt to get the motor to work. Have to do this at each cycle...
Answer Buster, Have you checked the voltage, at the outlet, when the motor is humming ? It has to remain above 105 VAC, or the motor won't start. Do you have to pull on the belt everytime the motor needs to start, or does the motor run the whole cycle once started. At this point it is most likely a worn motor, but could be the timer.
