Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10250667

The Suspension Spring is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is a critical component that helps to support and stabilize the outer tub during the wash and spin cycles, absorbing vibrations and minimizing excessive movement.

Symptoms of a bad suspension spring include:

  • Excessive shaking or vibrating during the wash or spin cycle
  • Loud banging or rattling noises from the washer
  • The washer moving or "walking" across the floor during operation
  • Leaks or potential damage to other components due to increased stress and movement

Causes of suspension spring failure can range from general wear and tear over time and exposure to high-speed spinning, to physical damage from overloading or unbalanced loads.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Steve for Model Number WTW8600YW0

I've had this new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8600YWO for 6 weeks now. Sometimes it drips water on the floor from in the washer left side. Water splashes on the side of the drum and the inside walls of the washer. The warranty service technician lifted the top open and says some springs are missing that secure the drum to the frame base. He checked and he is coming to install them in 2 days. How can there be springs missing when this is new. The factory quality assurance must be realy bad. Was this made on a friday afternoon holiday weekend at the factory?

Answer

Hello Steve, The manufacturers only check what the law requires. Last I heard this was actually 1 of every 10 coming off of the assembly line. In the 1980's, when I worked in manufacturing, the requirement was 3 out of 5. Also, you must remember that all appliances are man made and perfection, even if they strived for it, is not possible. We are providing the best service advise we possibly can and as hard as we try, we cannot answer questions for the manufacturer. If you have questions like when was the appliance made,on a holiday, these should be directed towards the good folks that are doing that job. If there are any questions you have that we are empowered to answer, please feel free to post them and we will happily do our very best to get you as accurate an answer in as short a time as we possibly can. Have a fantastic day.
