Meg for Model Number Maytag Refrigerator 2400 I am having difficulty inserting the locking rivet pin so it goes flush with the head. Any suggestions? It is not a new rivet pin/locking pin. I am re-using the old ones, to lock the "hook" in place for the pick off shelf.
Answer Meg, hopefully the rivet(s) WP59920-17 aren't damaged. Make sure the center shaft is drawn out as far as possible, without it falling out. Install the hook on the back of the bin, insert the rivet through the opening in the bin, into the hook. hold the top of the rivet in position with your fingernail or small blade screwdriver, and push in on the center shaft, until it is even with the top of the rivet.
