Meg March 11, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Refrigerator 2400 I am having difficulty inserting the locking rivet pin so it goes flush with the head. Any suggestions? It is not a new rivet pin/locking pin. I am re-using the old ones, to lock the "hook" in place for the pick off shelf.
1 Answer Meg, hopefully the rivet(s) WP59920-17 aren't damaged. Make sure the center shaft is drawn out as far as possible, without it falling out. Install the hook on the back of the bin, insert the rivet through the opening in the bin, into the hook. hold the top of the rivet in position with your fingernail or small blade screwdriver, and push in on the center shaft, until it is even with the top of the rivet. Covie W December 08, 2012 for Model Number 67043-6 What is the part number for the pins that hold part #'s 67043-6 and 67043-5 in the shelf,,,your diagram does not show them???? I ordered the two parts and paid over $40.00,, you would have expected two little keepers would have been included or at least note that these are not complete!!!
1 Answer Covie, The pick off shelf hook rivet is WP59920-17, You will need two(2) per hook assembly. These are "push pin" rivets, once you install and align the hook on the bin, you'll insert the pin into the opening, and press in on the center pin of the rivet to "lock" the rivet and hook in place.
