Dwayne for Model Number kenmore 665.17742K010 accumulator is covered with a gray substance plugging the filters in the top of accumulator, also on the underside of filter! Looks almost a gasket has dissolved and plugged every thing! Looks and feels almost like gum!
Answer Dwayne, It's most likely a detergent or calcium deposit from the water. It could also be a grease,or food deposit due to a lower than reccomended water temperature(120 dgrs.F. at first fill of the cycle) If the water temperature is not hot enough, the enzymes in the detergent, and the oil from the food particles on the dishes will not breakdown properly, and will leave a residue,in the dishwasher. You may want to purchase a dishwasher cleaner like "glisten" or "afresh" ,etc. to remove any deposits and run a few cycles with a proper hot water temperature (120 dgrs.F.) and recheck the resukts.
