Elaine Rommel for Model Number Anode Rod 6603739 Whirlpool Water Heater I am thinking about replacing my own Anode Rod, it has a plastic cap you can pop off, once I popped off cap there is another covering that almost looks like what they use for certain prescription bottles to keep them fresh. It looks like you just have to pierce it, but I am not sure? I know nothing about plumbing but I am a single lady who has been getting ripped off by plumbers. I did change two heating elements myself and trying to figure out if I can replace Anode Rod. It looks like you do not have that rod though. Will other Rods fit?
