Rick for Model Number mde9700ayw My fuse 3501-001244 has blown 3 times. The duct was dirty when it first blew. I checked the heating element with a meter and it is good. I checked the thermostat WP35001092 and it shows closed, but it rattles like something is lose inside. All seals seam to be tight. Could the thermostat be the problem? Thank you.
Answer Hello Rick, This is almost always caused by a restricted, crimped or excessively long or complicated exhaust duct,(too many turns). It can sometimes be caused by the laundry room having a door with no louvers in it and the door being closed when the unit is used. This prevents proper air flow and a heat build-up inside the unit sufficient to open the fuse. Overloading can also cause the issue. Read More...
