Jablonsj for Model Number MDE6700AYW I have a Maytag Neptune Dryer that is electric and it will power up but when you hit the start button an error code flashes up with (what it looks like) a lowercase "t" (or a upside down "f" in reverse) and a "5" (or "S"). I am not sure what the code is. I had a repair man come out and he checked the thermistor, thermostat, and fuse. All checked out fine. Could this be the control board and if it is which one? The one in the front (behind the display) or the one under the top cover?
Answer Jablonsj, The ts is a dryer thermistor short. This means that the thermistor resistance is very low. You will want to check for clogged lint screen, restricted vent system. The thermistor has been checked so it would be good. Check for bad wires on the thermistor. When checking the vent system you will want to check from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. If all this checks ok then the issue would be the main control board and would be the one under the top cover. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 26, 2014
