Theo for Model Number ARS2665AB I read some of the comments and want to be clear on this before I start this. I have a Amana frig that HAS screws in the door. Do I still cut the gasket or do I remove all of the screws and then remove the gasket, then use the same screws after I have the gasket in place to tighten it down? Your website is confusing as it shows to cut the gasket, remove it, insert the new one. But the instructions that came with the gasket show to cut and remove it, then replace the gasket, pre-drill 40 screws and screw it down. Now I have too wait for a response before I can do this project. The nice lady on the phone could not help me. Hopefully you can. Thank you.
Answer Theo, You are correct, If you have the original door with the original door liner with holes, you will need to loosen / remove the screws, remove the door gasket( you can cut it if you wish, it'll make the removal a bit easier, install the new gasket to the liner /door and tighten the screws. Some helpful hints, soak the new gasket in hot water, this will make the gasket soft and easier to work with. have a hair dryer handy to warm the corners of the gasket to ease the installation. Once it's installed and tightened in position, use the hair dryer and a metal teaspoon to smooth out any wrinkles or twists in the gasket, and apply a thin coat of "Vaseline" to the gasket surface on the hinge side of the door.
