For Whirlpool Assy, Refrigerator Dr Gasket (Black) (Part Number: OEM12738003)

Theo for Model Number ARS2665AB

I read some of the comments and want to be clear on this before I start this. I have a Amana frig that HAS screws in the door. Do I still cut the gasket or do I remove all of the screws and then remove the gasket, then use the same screws after I have the gasket in place to tighten it down? Your website is confusing as it shows to cut the gasket, remove it, insert the new one. But the instructions that came with the gasket show to cut and remove it, then replace the gasket, pre-drill 40 screws and screw it down. Now I have too wait for a response before I can do this project. The nice lady on the phone could not help me. Hopefully you can. Thank you.

Theo, You are correct, If you have the original door with the original door liner with holes, you will need to loosen / remove the screws, remove the door gasket( you can cut it if you wish, it'll make the removal a bit easier, install the new gasket to the liner /door and tighten the screws. Some helpful hints, soak the new gasket in hot water, this will make the gasket soft and easier to work with. have a hair dryer handy to warm the corners of the gasket to ease the installation. Once it's installed and tightened in position, use the hair dryer and a metal teaspoon to smooth out any wrinkles or twists in the gasket, and apply a thin coat of "Vaseline" to the gasket surface on the hinge side of the door.

Hello Steve, The screws have to come out if they go through holes in the gasket. If the screws do not go through the gasket, the metal brackets that clamp the gasket in place have to be loosened up enough to get the old gasket out and the new one under the brackets.

Steve, You will want to follow what the instructions sheet says. Unfortunately this part will not just snap into place.

Hello Barbara! I've located model SBDE21VPE and SBD21VE from the model numbers supplied. According to each model number research they both use the same door gasket part numbers. For the freezer door gasket use part number R0000203 and for the refrigerator door gasket use part number R0000202. Thanks!

Ross G for Model Number SX522VE

Hi, We have the above model which requires a new gasket. From a Amana parts manual the part number for this is 12444211. On the fridge it looks as though screws have to be removed to replace it. Could you please confirm for us if the AP4245998 part listed is the correct part before we order? Also - one of the crisper bins is broken - it is the second bin from the bottom. The manual shows item number 0043 for both the bottom bins but we have noticed the bottom bin is different. Could you confirm for us if the part number AP4005266 is the correct p/no. for the second bin from the bottom before we order? I have photos if further info is required Your help would be very much appreciated

Ross, We've checked for the part numbers you supplied, The fresh food door gasket is part number R0000202 the freezer door gasket is R0000203 . Remeber to soak the gasket in a tub of hot water to make it more flexible and easy to work with, before you try to install it. The crisper bin 10783204 is a "substitute" part and may not look the same as your original, but should function properly. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Janet! The refrigerator door gasket on your model SRD26VPSE is part number R0000202. Pull the old gasket off. It may be best to soak the new gasket in warm water to help take its shape/form. The new gasket will press into the door liner. You may need to use a hair dryer to form the seal, be careful not to melt it. Hope this helps!
