Jim for Model Number WTW57ESVW1 I am working on a whirlpool washer, model wtw57esvw1. At first it would fill and spin out, but wouldn't agitate. I found out the timer had melted some of the points off so I replaced the timer and now it won't agitate or spin, the motor just hums. Could this be the temperature control switch? I had the motor tested and it is working fine, so I have dismissed that.
Answer Jim, With the motor humming you will want to double check connections at the timer but also check the motor coupler as this would be the most likely cause for the unit to not agitate or spin and the motor hum. Also check wiring between the timer and motor to ensure that there are not loose or damaged wires. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 17, 2018
