David for Model Number GTWN4250D0WS

My GE washer is 3.5 years old. I've noticed the last few months during spin cycle it frequently gets off balance...usually when it kicks into high speed. After adjusting clothes it stays balanced, but I never used to have to adjust any clothing. All 4 dampening straps are fine. Front and back suspension rods are fine and the springs are not completely bottomed out. When the tub goes off balance it really bangs against the sides of the washing machine housing. What should I check next?

Answer

David, You will want to check the balance ring on top of the inner tub to make sure that the balance ring is not damaged and still has solution in it. It sounds like the clothes are getting bunched up on one side of the unit which would cause this.
