Tammy for Model Number 11047799701 Can you tell me what size the tub or basket is in this washer? I had this washer rebuilt by sears 1 year ago as the tub bearing goes bad. Now I had them here again today and it is bad again. I am torn because if I get it fixed again will it happen again? Have you ever heard of this, I was offered a new washer a Kenmore made by LG instead of the one I have that is a Kenmore made by whirlpool. Please help me choose what to do. Which one is better.
Answer Hello Tammy, We cannot make the decision for you but maybe I can give you some information that will aid in the understanding of the issue. The unit you now has was manufactured by Whirlpool. This is a very good design and the repeated failure points toward a quick fix instead of a correct fix. When the spin bearing fails more than once, it is obvious that the spinner support, (spider), WPW10269756, has an issue that is contributing to the units' failure. I have done many of these and once repaired, the unit is no longer an issue. I would request when the repair is done that the inner tub be replaced also. This will complete the repair by replacing the other part that rides against the bearing so the failure will not occur again. You could also opt to have them replace the unit but I have my reservations about the LG built unit since they do seem to have more issues than the other manufacturers' units. Read More...
