Keith Campbell for Model Number GHW9100LQ There is no 0, 1, or 2 after the Q on my model number inside the front door. The washer started making a loud scraping and clicking sound during a spin cycle. When I disassembled the outer tub and removed the inner wash basket, I found the spider intact, although coated in debris (mostly undissolved soap I think), but there was a thin, flat stainless steel piece that was formerly ring shaped that was loose between the basket and the tub that was interacting with the spider to make the noise. It appears to be some sort of keeper ring for a seal or a bearing, but I can't tell whether it came from the outer tub back or the inner tub, and I'm not eager to replace either without knowing where this thing came from. The bearings in the tub aren't perfect, but they are pretty smooth, and nothing looks like it has slid out of place. Any thoughts on what the flat piece might be? I can't tell if the ends used to be attached and it came apart, but that is my guess. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Answer Keith, This would have been a wave washer that was up against the inner tub part of the shaft. The manufacturer has stopped using this so you should be able to run washer without it. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 20, 2018
