Gerry for Model Number WFW8300SW00 I have a problem with the drive belt . The part number on the belt is 8540101 and thats the old part number of my old belt. I have bought 2 belts using this part number and both belts are over 2" too short. My old belt measures 51" 1/8 as it is now. My washer is 7 years old and the ser. number is 1912637 . It was bought at Leon's in Canada . I have tried to find the belt on line without any luck and seems no one can tell me the length of the bet they have in stock. Has Whirlpool changed the length of the belt and this is why I am having this problem now.
Answer Hello Gerry, The belt part number WP8540101 is the correct part number for your unit. When installing the belt you will put around the motor pulley first. Once around the motor pully you will start putting around the tub pulley. When you get to a point in which there is no more slack then you will turn the tub pulley so that the belt will slide on.
