Todd H for Model Number GR2FHTXTQ00 I have gotten three thermostats for this Icebox. My Icebox still will not defrost. I am checking for continuity on the two of the thermostats that I got from Sears. They read open whether the thermostat is in ice water or warm. Am I checking this correctly? Is it supposed to read closed at either warm or cold?
Answer Todd, If you have a digital multimeter with an audible tone you will hear a tone when you go across the 2 leads of the bimetal. This bi metal would need to be below 20 degrees to get an accurate reading. You will also want to do a continuity test of the heating element to make sure that it is not bad. Read More...
