Chester N. for Model Number MER7662WS The terminal block on the back of this stove has been damaged by what looks to be a defective part! One of the metal positive posts attached to the block worked its way loose and came in contact with the panel cover and created a dead short against the panel which burt a hole through the galv. panel cover. It also burt the red wire to the stove. Have you heard of this before? This stove is 2 years old and has worked fine. We noticed a flash and a pop 2 to 3 times (at different times) The short alos burt the positive leed on the pigtail, but looks ok to use. Need your thoughts?
Answer Hello Chester. This was cause by the cord being installed improperly. One of the screws was not tight enough when it was installed. Over time is arcs and works it way off and burns things in the way. You will need to replace all burnt parts on the unit, including the cord. Hope this helps. Read More...
