Jason for Model Number GX5FHTXVB01 The problem I have with my whirlpool is: the bottom freezer is cold but the upper refrigerator is warm. I opened it up and found heavy frost on the coil, I replaced thermostat and tested the heater was fine. When I turned it back on, it works normal for about 3-4 weeks. Then the same problem appears. After manual defrost, it works for another 3-4 weeks, then it happens again. During the normal-looking 3-4 weeks, it still defrosts, maybe not completely so that the frost builds up? I wonder if we can and how to increase the defrost time. Thanks
Answer Hello Jason, This is going to be a defrost issue. You will need to test the defrost thermostat WPW10165425. If these are good, replace the Jazz board WPW10503278 in the ceiling of the fresh food compartment. This is the defrost control. Read More...
