Jim for Model Number GEQ9800PW1 Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Dryer is not heating but has power to dryer. Removed heater box and checked continuity of heating element, thermal cut off and 250 F thermostat installed in heater box. Continuity is fine. This leads me to believe heating element, and thermostats are not bad. Trying to reinstall heater box having extreme difficulty. It appears heater box slips over air duct and is held in place by 1 screw bracket and in metal frame of bracket to floor of dryer. Is there a trick to reinstalling heater box? I am working from front lower panel of dryer. I have not removed drum at this point. However it looks like I may have to remove top and drum to install heater box over air duct. Is there a better way to install heater box? Not sure where to continue trouble shooting dryer heating problem since heating element and thermostat's do not test bad.
Answer Hello Jim. There is a tab that slips in the back heater duct to install the element housing. Now you will need to trace the voltage and see where your losing it at. It may be the control board in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 12, 2015
